  • Where the "Azgalor" Realm name comes from: (Courtesy of WoWWiki.)

Azgalor was once the lieutenant to the mighty demon-king Mannoroth (Mannoroth the Destructor was a Pit Lord whose ruthlessness and vile cunning made him into one of the favoured lieutenants of his masters, Archimonde and Kil'jaeden, the champions of the Burning Legion.) (a pit lord (A warrior hero of the Annihilan, exceptional at weakening enemies and melee combat.)). Following Mannoroth's death at the hands of the orc (The green skinned orcs are one of the most prolific races of Azeroth.) Grom Hellscream (Grommash "Grom" Hellscream was the chieftain of the Warsong Clan, and best friend and chief advisor to Warchief Thrall.), Azgalor took it upon himself to direct the Burning Legion (The Burning Legion (aka demon hordeDotD 161) is a massive army of demons, infernals, and corrupted races who seek to destroy any trace of order in the Universe.)'s ground forces at the Battle of Mount Hyjal (The following is a list of links to pages that might share the same title.).MoM 177

Azgalor's first mission was to accompany Archimonde as he made his dreaded ascension up Mount Hyjal (Hyjal is a region of northern Kalimdor, located southwest of Winterspring, east of Felwood, northeast of Ashenvale, and northwest of Azshara.) towards Nordrassil (Nordrassil is the original World Tree of the night elves, meaning "crown of the heavens" in their language.), the World Tree (World Tree refers to two great trees in Azeroth:

Nordrassil, the original World Tree blessed by the dragon aspects, and Teldrassil, the tree created by the night elves in a failed attempt to restore their immortality.). Azgalor unleashed a fury of demonic energies, massacring every mortal in his path. But just as they thought they had achieved victory, Malfurion (Malfurion Stormrage is the greatest Archdruid ever to live, and arguably one of the most powerful beings in Azeroth.) set loose his wisps (Wisps are fey nature spirits who build night elf structures and gather resources.) which imploded the Tree and incinerated Archimonde. The Legion (The Burning Legion (aka demon hordeDotD 161) is a massive army of demons, infernals, and corrupted races who seek to destroy any trace of order in the Universe.) had been defeated once again.

Though the Legion was defeated that day, and Azgalor seemingly vanquished, he escaped into the Twisting Nether (The Twisting Nether dimension is separate, but intertwined with the primary material dimension (where your player character lives most of the time).) to plot his revenge against the mortal armies of the world, and seeking to destroy all life on Azeroth (The following is a list of links to pages that might share the same title.), employing whatever forces he can utilize.MoM 177 Azgalor set about gathering whatever resources he could muster for a second attack, vowing that, this time, no one would survive.

Though he isn't as clever as his former master, he has an aptitude for chaos and violence that is legendary even among demonkind.MoM 177

Azgalor wields the two-bladed sword, Spite (Spite, a two-bladed sword of acid and frost, was crafted by Mannoroth, a pit lord general of tremendous power, and given to Azgalor as a perfect tool for destruction.).
