In recent times they have welcomed the Trogg ("We drove the troggs out of Gnomeregan, but then it all went so horribly wrong! Now our home is completely irradiated, and we gnomes have been scattered all over Dun Morogh.) invasion of the Dwarven lands, and are content to let the two sides fight it out whilst they sit and wait for an opportunistic moment to take back their lands. They can be found in Frostmane Hold (Frostmane Hold is the base camp of the Frostmane ice trolls located in the cold mountains of Dun Morogh.), on the Shimmer Ridge (Shimmer Ridge is located in northern Dun Morogh, west of the Gates of Ironforge.) and around Anvilmar (Anvilmar is the first settlement of significance encountered by starting dwarves and gnomes.) in Dun Morogh.

    Background

The Frostmane trolls once ruled over the frigid lands of Dun Morogh, only to have their empire fall to dwarven armies. The ice trolls were driven to the hills in retreat, a shameful blow to their warlike nature. Now the dwarven forces are dispersed in exploration and focused on quelling the trogg invastion, the Frostmane trolls have seen the oppertunity to reclaim Dun Morogh and restore their long-lost kingdom.MoM 101[1]

Like the Winterax (The Winterax are a tribe of ice trolls once part of the nation of Zul'Drak led by Korrak the Bloodrager.) trolls, Frostmanes do not share the unusually large size of their Drakkari (The Drakkari are a tribe of ice trolls that founded the nation of Zul'Drak in eastern Northrend, with the city of Gundrak as their capital.) brethren. Even so, the Frostmane trolls have been launching increasingly frequent and aggressive attacks against the dwarves living in Dun Morogh ( Gnome (2,800) Wildhammer dwarf (840) Human (560) Ice troll Trogg Leper Gnome

Dun Morogh is a region located between the magma-strewn wasteland of the Searing Gorge to the south, the gentle ridges of Loch Modan to the east, and the swampy Wetlands to the north.). The dwarves currently consider the Frostmane tribe little more than a nuisance, and have not made a concerted effort to vanquish them.

Other Notable Frostmane Trolls: Grik'nir the Cold (Grik'nir the Cold is a level 5 Frostmane troll found in southern Coldridge Valley in Dun Morogh.), Vejrek (Vejrek is a level 11 troll found near Frostmane Hold in Dun Morogh.)
