Khadgar <Sons of Lothar> is a level 71 quest giver . At first, Khadgar believed Medivh to be nothing more than he appeared to be, a kindly, old, if slightly eccentric wizard, but it wasn't long before he began to sense something was drastically wrong with his master. Though he never suspected that Medivh was actually being controlled by Sargeras (Sargeras the Destroyer, the Fallen Titan, is the creator and leader of the Burning Legion.), the Dark Titan (The Titans are a race of extremely powerful, godlike beings who travel across the cosmos bringing order to worlds.), he became suspicious of his master's actions and motives. Eventually, he unraveled Medivh's plot to open a portal between Azeroth (The following is a list of links to pages that might share the same title.) and Draenor (Outland (sometimes incorrectly referred to as "Outlands" or "the Outland[s]") is the name given to the shattered floating remnants of the red world Draenor, the homeworld of the orcs and refuge of the draenei, the current domain of Illidan Stormrage and his followers.), after meeting a Horde (The history of the Horde spans several decades of an organizationHPG 4 that has taken many forms.) emissary, the half-orc (The green skinned orcs are one of the most prolific races of Azeroth.) assassin Garona (Garona Halforcen is a half-orc assassin.). Knowing it was already too late to stop the Dark Portal (The Dark Portal (aka the Great Portal) is the gateway between Azeroth and Draenor.) from opening further, Khadgar and Garona rushed to King Llane Wrynn (King Llane Wrynn I was the ruler of the Kingdom of Stormwind (formerly Azeroth) during the First War.) of Azeroth for help. The pair, along with Lord Anduin Lothar (Sir Anduin Lothar, the Lion of Azeroth, was the last true descendant of the ancient Arathi bloodline, a champion of the Kingdom of Azeroth (later known as the Kingdom of Stormwind) during the First War, and the supreme commander of the armies of the Alliance of Lordaeron during the Second War.) and a group of soldiers returned to Karazhan to find Medivh in psychic link with the orc warlock (Warlocks were once mages or, in case of the orcs, shamans, who, in pursuit of ever-greater sources of power, abandoned their studies of the Nature or Arcane and delved into darker Shadow-based magic.) Gul'dan (Gul'dan the Warlock, Master of the Inner Circle of the Shadow Council and Destroyer of Dreams, was the de facto leader of the Horde in its early years, and believed to be the most powerful mortal warlock ever to exist.). Khadgar managed to best his master and Sargeras by plunging a sword into Medivh's heart, but not before becoming cursed with frailty and old age. By the end of the events of Last Guardian (The following is a list of links to pages that might share the same title.), Khadgar went from a young adult to an old man with a great white beard.
The Second WarFollowing Medivh's death and the fall of Stormwind ( Ironforge dwarf (28,000) High elf (20,000)Half-elf (8,000) Night elf (4,000) Half-orc Gnome Harpy
Stormwind (aka Kingdom of Stormwind, or Nation of Stormwind) is a human city-state in the southern Eastern Kingdoms on the continent of Azeroth.) to the orcs, Khadgar fled north with Lord Lothar and the rest of the refugees to Lordaeron (The following is a list of links to pages that might share the same title.). He spent the Second War (The Second War was a conflict between the Alliance of Lordaeron and the Old Horde, engulfing all the lands of the Eastern Kingdoms, and ending with the victory for the Alliance.) fighting with the Alliance of Lordaeron (The Alliance was once known as the Alliance of Lordaeron, or Alliance of humans, elves and dwarves[1].), all the while studying Medivh's spells and the nature of the Dark Portal. When the tide of the war turned and the Alliance managed to push the Horde back to the Portal itself, Khadgar attempted to destroy the Dark Portal, effectively severing the link between Azeroth and Draenor. The rift between worlds remained, however. To guard against a second attack from Draenor, Khadgar oversaw the construction of Nethergarde Keep (Nethergarde Keep, a Stormwind fortress of dour mages and paladins, keeps watch over the Dark Portal, and the demons and ogres that would abuse its power.) in the Blasted Lands (The Blasted Lands bear that name for a reason: they were twisted by the magic that brought the Dark Portal into being, spewing the rampaging Horde into Azeroth.).
The Alliance ExpeditionKhadgar's fears would be validated only a year after Nethergarde's completion, when the portal opened again, and orc forces began pouring out, striking strategically to steal powerful artifacts. Fearing a second invasion, Khadgar led an Alliance Expedition (The Alliance Expedition was a military venture to the orc homeworld of Draenor following the Second War, with the goal of reclaiming the Book of Medivh from Ner'zhul, and stopping the orc from opening portals to other worlds.) to the orc homeworld, where he quickly discovered that the situation was even worse than he had feared. The orcs, under the leadership of the shaman (The Shaman (for correct spelling and more on the word, see Shaman Spelling) is a healer - warrior - mage hybrid class, and as such, Shamans are considered one of the most versatile classes in the game.) Ner'zhul (The Elder Shaman Ner'zhul was the Warchief of Draenor, the clans that remained uncaptured after the Dark Portal was destroyed in Azeroth.), were planning on opening doorways to new worlds for the Horde to plunder. Unable to stop Ner'zhul from opening his portals, and unable to contain the terrible energies that were unleashed by the many portals, Draenor was being torn apart. To prevent the potential destruction of Azeroth, the archmage used Medivh's spellbook (The source of much rumor and speculation both within the game world and among fans, the Book of Medivh refers to a spellbook (or possibly two or more spellbooks) written by Medivh, the Last Guardian.) to close the Dark Portal from the other side, thereby shielding Azeroth from the final cataclysm of Draenor's destruction. Khadgar ushered the survivors into one of the rifts (he was trapped on the other side the portal when Draenor exploded and was believed to be dead).S&L 41
Archmage Khadgar has since been immortalized in stone, along with the other leaders from the expeditionary force, in the Valley of Heroes (The Valley of Heroes is a valley that lies before the main gate of Stormwind.) in Stormwind ( Ironforge dwarf (28,000) High elf (20,000)Half-elf (8,000) Night elf (4,000) Half-orc Gnome Harpy
