Kilrogg Deadeye was a legendary Orc (The green skinned orcs are one of the most prolific races of Azeroth.) warrior and Chieftain of the powerful Bleeding Hollow (Past leader: Kilrogg Deadeye
Current leaders: Jorin Deadeye (Mag'har), Grillok "Darkeye", Warlord Morhk (Fel Horde)
Clan Colors: Green (Later Orange)
The Bleeding Hollow Clan was one of the most legendary of the clans in the Second War and were able to evade capture by Alliance forces.) Clan. He is so named because he lost his right eye.
His name and condition have inspired the Warlock spell, the Eye of Kilrogg (Casting summons a green, disembodied, floating eye that can move around while floating a yard or so from the ground that gives the caster a view from the "eye".).
BiographyWhen Gul'dan (Gul'dan the Warlock, Master of the Inner Circle of the Shadow Council and Destroyer of Dreams, was the de facto leader of the Horde in its early years, and believed to be the most powerful mortal warlock ever to exist.) promised the orc chieftains unlimited strength and power, Kilrogg was one of the first to accept the offer, drinking the blood of Mannoroth (Mannoroth the Destructor was a Pit Lord whose ruthlessness and vile cunning made him into one of the favoured lieutenants of his masters, Archimonde and Kil'jaeden, the champions of the Burning Legion.), and becoming filled with strength and demonic rage.
As an older chieftan, Kilrogg Deadeye had become more unwilling to throw lives away in combat. In orcish politics older orcs become more pragmatic, which is often mistaken for cowardice by the younger generation. Prior to the the sacking of Stormwind, Kilrogg had killed three of his sons and two grandsons already who thought they could rule the clan better.LG 221
At the start of the First War (The First War between orcs and humans was fought following the arrival on Azeroth of the orcish clans of Draenor.), the Bleeding Hollow Clan participated in the first attack on Stormwind Keep (The mighty keep of Stormwind is the seat of power in human lands.), along with the Twilight's Hammer (Twilight's Hammer refers to two reasonably distinct, but closely linked, organizations.) Clan, led by Cho'gall (Cho'gall, Initiate of the Fifth Circle of the Shadow Council, was a two-headed ogre and the first of the Ogre-Magi.).W2Man 65 This first attack was an unmitigated disaster for the orcs, and Deadeye and Cho'gall blamed the failure on each other. A rift soon grew that threatened to rip the Horde (The Horde is one of the two major political factions of the mortal races in Azeroth, its counterpart being the Alliance.) apart before it had even begun its conquest of Azeroth. Gul'dan quickly stepped in to quell the problem, installing Blackhand (Warchief Blackhand the Destroyer was the Warchief of the Horde during the First War between the Alliance and Horde.) as Warchief of the Horde.
Kilrogg fought under Blackhand, and then later under Orgrim Doomhammer (Orgrim Doomhammer, also known as the Backstabber, was the Warchief of the Horde during the end of the First War and the entirety of the Second War.). During the Second War (The Second War was a conflict between the Alliance of Lordaeron and the Old Horde, engulfing all the lands of the Eastern Kingdoms, and ending with the victory for the Alliance.) his clan was stationed throughout Khaz Modan (Khaz Modan is the name of the mountainous continent containing the homeland of the Ironforge Clan, the kingdom of Ironforge (aka kingdom of Khaz Modan[1]), which is ruled by the Bronzebeard Clan.), where it controlled the Horde's vital mining and oil refining operations. After the end of the war and the defeat of the orcs, Kilrogg escaped and managed to avoid capture of his clan by the Alliance forces.
When Ner'zhul (The Elder Shaman Ner'zhul was the Warchief of Draenor, the clans that remained uncaptured after the Dark Portal was destroyed in Azeroth.) reopened the rift of the Dark Portal, Kilrogg lead his clan back through it into Draenor (Outland (sometimes incorrectly referred to as "Outlands" or "the Outland[s]") is the name given to the shattered floating remnants of the red world Draenor, the homeworld of the orcs and refuge of the draenei, the current domain of Illidan Stormrage and his followers.). There he was hailed as a hero, and was taken before Ner'zhul. After recounting the events of the Second War to the old shaman (The Shaman (for correct spelling and more on the word, see Shaman Spelling) is a healer - warrior - mage hybrid class, and as such, Shamans are considered one of the most versatile classes in the game.), Kilrogg, along with his friends Grom Hellscream (Grommash "Grom" Hellscream was the chieftain of the Warsong Clan, and best friend and chief advisor to Warchief Thrall.) and Korgath Bladefist (Warchief Kargath Bladefist (aka Korgath on occasion) is the master of the fel orcs and Chieftain of the Shattered Hand Clan.), led the charge back into Azeroth to steal items of power needed to aid Ner'zhul in his scheme.
When Ner'zhul used the items to open more portals, abandoning Draenor and the orcs to destruction from the energies they had unleashed, Kilrogg Deadeye and Grom Hellscream managed to fight their way through the Alliance (The Alliance (a.) expeditionary force and reach the Dark Portal. Their clans passed through just before Archmage Khadgar (Khadgar <Sons of Lothar> is a level 71 quest giver located in the center dome of the Terrace of Light in the neutral Shattrath City.) closed it completely. The orcs attacked the humans on the other side of the Portal, but they were defeated. The Bleeding Hollow clan was rounded up and placed in the internment camps in Lordaeron.[1] It is said that Kilrogg Deadeye perished in the final battle against Khadgar on Draenor, but his body was never found.HPG 172
Kilrogg's son, Jorin Deadeye (Jorin Deadeye is the son of Kilrogg Deadeye, the venerable (and presumed dead) chieftain of the Bleeding Hollow clan.), is now a member of the Mag'har (The Mag'har are a faction of brown-skinned orcs who remain on Outland and have separated themselves from the other remaining orc clans that fell prey to Magtheridon and joined his army of fel orcs (that are now led by the powerful Kargath Bladefist).). How he escaped the corruption that consumed his father is, as yet, unknown.
